Cool running 20x45mm motor?

Hey guys. I just received my replacement motor for my Trinity NOW (it's actually not a bad truck once you set it up and loctite everything believe it or not; I hate Trinity too, so that has to say SOMETHING about this little guy).

The original rotor blew apart on me (using it in spec too; go figure- it's a feigao...:mdr:). Anyways, these little motors are probably not enough for this 1/16 truggy, but I was curious as to whether anyone knows where I can find a really nice 20x45mm brushless (same size as these stupid feigaos). I was looking at the himax, and they look quite nice, and there's also the hyperion Y-22 motors. Any input on either of those motors?

I'm hoping that I can track a motor down that'll run less than 170F after a few minutes... I may not end up replacing the motor right away. Finding a summer job is proving harder than I anticipated...:diablo:

Thanks in advance guys!

Edit: Or, if anyone knows where I can get a 13 tooth pinion instead of the 15 tooth that comes stock with this thing, that may help my temperature issues. I already have my settings turned down LOW on the mamba 25, including timing, start power, low braking power and reverse...etc.

The hyperion motors are good, much better than the feigao. get the l can 22 series. Maybe a gh 3600 motor would be good. I run the 4700kv model in a boat with great success, and it is not water cooled.

I'll check out the hyperions. Thanks linc! What about the venom V20L motors? Those any good at all? I found one for 25 bucks on tower (one of those oddball sales they have sometimes).

I'll have to hunt down a Y22L though and see how that works. I'll have to see how much those things go for too. Thanks again!

If you want to try something intresting, Try a Neu 11xx motor, its about 400 sized and real strong. Size wise, i think its about lehner 15 series sized, maybe slightly smaller. They have a 1/8 inch shaft and are overpowered in my Mini Quake. I'm thinking when i can swing it, i'll try my 1107 2y(3400kv) in a 1/10 stadium truck. The only problem is they are expensive for such a small motor, About $120.00

Yeah, that's QUITE a pretty penny. I think I need something with a 2.3mm shaft to work with the pinion I have as well. I need to find out what pitch this thing takes too, so larger shaft sizes are probably out of the question unfortunately (at least for now). I'm looking for something more in the 40 dollar range too....heh. Thanks though.

You are electric thunder on the rc car action forums right? If so, i don't need to tell you the quality of the Neus. I just threw it out there because i love mine

That I am.:mdr: Trust me, I'd LOVE a neu motor, but I can't afford it. I could barely afford the Medusa...heh!

Down the road I'm sure I'll have a Neu eventually. Some day... oh yes...some day.:mdr::whistle:
