so how long can i have my lipos plugged in?

i know your not suppose to keep your lipos plugged into your charger or the esc, but how long can you keep it plugged for at the most. reason for asking is because on my nimhs, i usually plug in the batts but have the esc turned off. and then ill drive to my bashing site which is about 10 mins away. and ill just turn the esc on from the outside of my truck, since the batts are already plugged in. so is 15 mins for a lipo plugged into the MMM or charger too long?

I would not plug in the battery till you are ready to use it, the ESC will still draw power from the battery even though the system is off..and this is true with a lot of battery types

Even though switched off, many ESCs are actually still "on" and will drain some small current. Just 10 minutes on a fully charged pack (of any type) won't drain it too much. But, be careful about doing that with depleted batteries.

ouuu so its not really bad. i thought i read that if you kept lipos plugged in, it can damage the battery. i guess they re saying that because your not suppose to have lipos down to under a certain voltage. esp if you just ran your truck down to the lvc and forgot to unplug the battery from the esc. ok got it.

Thats for those that go and run, then come home and forget to either unplug or take out their lipos.

Then, a week later the next time they check, the lipos are either puffed or will not charge because they've pulled the voltage down too far cause the esc kept draining them while they were connected. You're not supposed to allow voltage for a lipo to get below ~3v per cell at anytime, it will damage the cell. Reason I keep my lvc set at 3.2v to have a little safety margin.
