Brushless Power Wheels Barbie Jeep?

Some of you may know how the Power Wheels Jeeps run twin 550 titan like motors. Are these motors able to be replaced with an upgraded motor or possibly a brushless setup? Instead of just throwing the Jeep away once my daughter out grows it, I was maybe thinking of a possible project.:D
What do you think?

Doable..

BUT you need some kind of translation that acts as a transmittor/receiver. (you could use some kind of servo tester to do it)

Just make it RC, with a large steering servo....

I have a feeling that the drivetrain of it wouldn't hold up to the power of brushless.

Who cares.. Make you kids fly around the garden with a dual 2280..

JOHNNYMAXXIMA 09.17.2005 02:42 PM

Thats what I'm talkin about!:D

HOLY CRAP! i wish i had a dad like u! lol, its a boy's dream to have a barbie car that can go 30mph down teh street! LOL, imagine ur daughter racing ur neighbor's gokarts on her plastic ATV! HUMILIATION!!!

It may hold up. When rc pullers started they used those gearboxes and pulled upwards of 600 lbs, before they started using custom made gearboxes

I thought about upgrading my nephew's jeep. I was simply going to use some old rc packs to up the voltage, using the stock motors.

This looks like a good place for a 3080 to me. Have wheel standing power. I think we could get 40.

crazyjr 09.18.2005 12:32 AM

That may be tooooo much Coolhand

standard_63 09.19.2005 10:33 AM

Heck, I'd be interested in one if it went 40! :) Those plastic wheels--talk about a drifter!!!

On the same line of thought, how about a BL custom gokart? Get one of those premade ones at pepboys or such and drop a BL system into it? What size batteries would something like that need? Put one of those Coke can Lehners in it?:D

Nick 09.19.2005 11:16 AM

Slap some giant Bow-Ties on it. :D

dabid 09.19.2005 02:21 PM

Yeah, those plastic wheels would make for some hairy high speed driving! My brother's TT-01 drifter with ABS tires can only get going so fast in a straight line before it loops out, and then you gotta try and stop it so you don't smash into anything. Now just imagine the Power Wheels jeep weighing who know's how many more times as much as the TT-01........how would you even get the power down with those things?

nbcaznmaster 09.19.2005 03:23 PM

lol! put some go-kart or atv tires on it. also! i suggest putting reall shocks on barbie jeep or else ur daughter is in for a really bumpy ride! I got an idea! u ever see them TOY CARS, teh ones kids peddle with their leeggs? lol, convert those! lol!

crazyjr 09.19.2005 05:47 PM

I used to have an old pedal tractor. use coolhand's big motor and get a plow
