FLM E-Maxx Chassis Issues

Well,

I just received a FLM extended e-maxx chassis kit in the mail. I'm using it to re-build a brushless E-Maxx for a buddy.

As with all FLM stuff, the machine work is just amazing, and whole kit has a very stylish and professional look to it.

I did run into a few snags, though, and wanted to put them out there and see if anyone else had similar issues/experiences.

1) Screws: Or a lack of them, for that matter. I only received roughly 1/2 the amount of screws required to actually assemble the chassis kit. This seems odd to me..............

2) Chassis braces: While these look awesome, it would seem that the holes drilled through them to allow access to the 8 tranny bolts DO NOT line up with the tranny bolts. As such, I'm now left with having to remove 16 screws to remove the braces, every time I need to remove the tranny.

Anyone else come across anything like this?

1. I bought mine used and it came assembled so i can't help you here.

2. There are more holes through the brace than there are holes. The part of the brace that has the three attachment sites goes to the rear. Does it line up better now?

No, that's not it. The braces fit up to the chassis correctly, the access holes just seem to be ~ 1/16" - 1/8" off.

I'm almost thinking of just drilling out the holes a little bit bigger.........though I'd really rather not..........

Hmmmm.................

Welcome to MOD's 101...
Yes same experience on both fronts. luckily I had a screw kit handy for the building phase and as for the braces being 1/8 off is true and bites. I just screwed the trans down prior to installing the braces, you can enlarge them fairly easy since it's all just alum but to bites that you have to do anything at all..

But the FLM does look great when it completed..
