Okay, first of all;

The 1st step you wanted to make with the 6S is huge, compared to the 14 cell powered 10L you first had, here is why;

-lipo will be much lighter
-you run at higher volts
-you use a stronger motor.

Those 4 points make me want to say 'use 5S lipoly'

Considering Promod did nearly 60 mph (59.7 mph) on his 2240 powered truck and a 6S lipoly. In other words.. BE PREPARED! you know what lipoly's are up to.

My choice for a nice runtime vs speed would be in the area of the 1940/8 or 9 The nine for the coolest setup and a longer runtime and the 8 for a topspeed setup.. (mind that those RPM ratings are under load)

I would stay away from a bigmaxximum. The schulze is a rather sensitive controller (understatement) and a 4 pole is about twice as hard on your esc than a 2 pole motor.

Hello,

by using the Lehner 1940/8 or 1940/9 what gear ratio you will recommend for an EMAXX (my EMAXX = www.never2mu.ch ) ?

Thanks in forward and with greetings from Germany

Hi Harald!

Well, how many cells would you like to use? also a 5S lipoly?

Until yet I only run my EMAXX with 14 cells NiMh (3300 - 3800 mAh) and that is what I prefer in the moment.

I have no experience with LiPo`s but this week I have ordered from maxamps a set of 2 pieces "Lipoly 4200mah 2S2P 7.4V Pack" - I hope this will work fine !?

I have tried a set from Kokam (2 cells with each 3,7V and 3200 mAh - 160 gramm each pack = 380 gramm ) - the truck is really fast but after 5 minutes the LED of my low voltage device that I have mounted on the LiPo`s started to blink.

To beware of damage I stop the truck and change the batteries.

So in the moment I prefer my NiMh-packs but maybe someday a got LiPo-Setup with a Lehner/BK-combo ?!?

What do you think ?

A 1930/9. or a 1940/8 About the gearing, if you want the ideal mix of power/runtime and speed, go for the stock gearing. Are you using a mod1 spur? what diffs do you use (UE or stock?) do you still use the 2 speed transmission?

My favorite is the Lehner 1940/8 ( thanks to Mike :) :) :) )

Stock gearing means 66/18 !?

In the moment I use 70/12 just like in the instruction manual from Novak for the HV-Maxx with a RobinsonRacingProducts Slipper Clutch and RRP spur/pinion gear .

The diffs are stock - but by upgrading the motor I will order the diffs from UE (8 spyder).

Yes - I use the stock 2 speed transmission but I have changed the idle gears from UE.

I would stick with stock gearing with this setup.
