reconfiguring maxamps packs
does anyone have experience reconfiguring maxamps packs? I must not have good enough soldering irons because I can't get the bars to come loose. I've got a 40watt iron and a 100 watt soldering gun. Neither seem to be doing the trick. They have been fine up to this point, but I have been buying preconfigured packs until now. I'm changing the E-Maxx style to flat pack as well as making a 7cell hump pack into a flat pack. Please help.

If the "bars" are not battery bars, but strips of nickel that are welded on, then you have to cut them off. But since you labeled them as "bars", I assume that that's what they are. If you haven't already, put some solder on the 100watt gun before you try to unsolder the bars. If that doesn't do the trick, then you are going to have to ask Maxamps what's going on.

thanks MetalMan. That confirmed what I thought should be the case, and I went to my LHS and bought a 60watt Hobbico iron to try instead of the Radio Shack 40watt. It was a night and day difference. Thanks again.
