HotBodies D8

A new 1/8 buggy on the market - I like the look.

Does Travis Amezua still race for HB? Or does he even still race?

I have to say that it does indeed look pretty sick. There is so much n*tro stuff though that I can't even see if it would be a good candidate for a BL conversion...

That's a cool looking buggy, does anyone know how much they are asking for it and when it will be released??, I couldn’t find it on the site??. Not that I'm looking to buy one I'm just curious...

I'm trying to expand my no-nothing buggy knowledge..

Have a great one gentelmen..

Yeah, I like those shocks.

Looks like the layout is ripe for conversion with room on the left for ESC/RX and on the right for batteries. It's a nice looking machine either way though.

Face it, you guys think all nitro R/C's are perfect for conversions.

Nothing special...16mm shocks like that have already been out for a bit on the Jammin X1X-CR Buggy.

Other things I don't like...

Plastic Steering brace
Plastic Knuckles
Plastic Chassis Braces
Thin Ackerman Bar

It just screams RTR to me with all that plastic.

Mine too. IIRC, the HB European site was different and was accessible, but I can't remember the URL.

VintageMA 05.29.2008 12:50 PM

http://www.hbeurope.com but I don't see the buggy on there.

Anyone know who are distributors here in the US for HotBodies? A-Main used to carry some stuff but looks like the D4 is all they have now and it's on back order.

I was considering a D4 for a while, but it is way expensive. Makes me think the D8 will come out around the $600 - 700 range here in the US.

I wouldn't get it, but always on the look out for new vehicles hitting the market.

Great Planes (Tower) and/or Horizon may be distributors for them here in the states.

ffactory666 08.06.2008 08:48 PM

A Main has them for pre sale as does Tower , $379 ( tower ) :surprised:

Should be out Sep 1st.
If i go with Tower and use my international shopper discounts it would cost me $389 total to have this landed in Australia

Just found out that the lightning 2 diff mounts fit the D8 chassis so if Mike has a mount for the lightning this can be converted
