Dual Brushless Warhead Setup
I ditched the idea of using outrunner DD on my warhead due to complication's with the mount setup and the lack of proper component's so here is my new idea... I plan to use an E-savage tranny that I bought from my friend and mount it on the custom .30in plexiglass mount/skidplate I made for the warhead. I never hear any issue's with e-savy tranny's and I plan to put mine to its limit's and beyond by running dual brushless motors on it on seperate 3s lipo battery's with dual MM ESC's. I am looking into dual velineon's, dual kd36L series motor's, dual feigao 540 L series motor's, or something fairly on the cheaper side for proper power output that I'm expecting and a ton of overall power. I know running dual motors on one tranny or r/c isnt smart because of different rotating speeds but Im gonna give it a shot. What do you guys think of the idea?
will the motors be on the same spur? if so dont worry about them being different speeds.
AWW MAN NO MS PAINT DRAWINGS! BOOOO |
Just parallel your batteries so that each esc sees the same voltage. That should keep motor rpm as close as possible. You could use feigao s series motors. The 12s or 10s work well on 3s.
I want as much power as possible linc. Do you think dual "s" series would work fine? I want power.
The 12s would be an excellent motor for this application, IMO.
I wonder where you got a tranny like that? I hope it works good for you, I never had problems with it.

Thats what I was planning to do. I want dual velineons because of the perfect kv rating for 3s, motor size and power, 1/8 shaft. Ill look into the 9l also.
Linc I found the perfect setup. Its not only cheap its a good idea. Im going to run dual Ammo 36-56 1800kv motors. I had the 2600 and it was a brutal motor until it overheated powering my truggy by itself. That was just for kicks though. I think I have everything I need for this conversion set to buy.

I plan to run high mah 5s in parallel to both MM's. The KV seems perfect.
Then why not dual 15L's? By Linc's testing, I'd go along with what his results were. Maybe, dual KD36 9XL's?
Either way it should be fast. I prefer the 15l over the ammo, but with 2 of them temps should be fine.
Ya, Im not looking for all out craziness like what most of you guys are trying to acheive. Im just looking for a setup that will be fun to use and that will have a good amount of overall power.
It would be cool to have the front and the back drive seperately, so you could wheelie and then gun it in the front and have the front tires balloon up HUGE!
