MMM auto lipo cutoff or 6.0 volts?

What do you all use? Does it make a difference?

I have two TrackPower 2s1p packs.

Thanks

I read about a lot of people using the auto-lipo but it says in the manual that it only auto detects between 2s and 3s. I'm not sure if it will work for 4s or more so I always set mine for 3.2v per cell just to be safe.

Yep, I always use the manual setting and go for at least 3.1v per cell. I have not noticed much difference with 3.2v per cell for runtime, so that is what I use.

I use 3.3 vpc

If you're using the Trakpowers in series, you'll want 12.0V for the LVC as a minimum. I use 12.6V on mine with 2 Trakpowers.

I have them in series, thank all!!

If castle is listening think there needs to be a programming option where you can set your own auto detect voltage. e.g 12.8 volts if a 4s pack is detected and 16 volts if a 5s pack is detected, otherwise it would be PITA to have to reset the cuttoff every time you alternate between packs.

If you set to auto detect it sets itself for 3.0v/cell. However it does work on up to 6s when you are using the Monster. If you set it to auto detect and then when you turn the controller on it will beep the same number of times as the cells it detected so you can verify it detected the correct number of cells. For instance if you plug a 5 cell pack it will beep 5 times. For a 3 cell pack it would beep 3 times, etc...

That said. I use a 3.2V/cell manual setting. No need to get every last drop out of the lipo and reduce the life of the pack.

+1!!! That would be very ccool if you could just set the volt/cell on the cut off and let the autodetect do its thing.

OK, That makes sense. Thanks for the info!

Too bad the manual setting only goes up to 17.1v - no good for a 6s pack. You have to select auto if you run 6s. I would love to see that change.

That problem is fixed on the new versions of the Castle Link. Just update to the new version (3.051).

No problem, as much as people have helped me on this board, it's the least I could do.

+2 on that. If this is all done through code a firmware update could be all that's needed to make that adjustable setting. That's been a real issue for me because I do like to run different packs while I am out and have to stick with the auto-cutoff as my only choice.

I don't get it . . . changing the voltage drastically changes all the characteristics of the system. I think most people set up a system with an end use in mind and stick with it. Why are you changing the voltage for your systems?
