CVD Pin Replacement

I installed my MMM on my LSP pro last night - Hit the throttle to feel the power.

Twang! front wheel locks up - It sheared a pin on the front CVD :surprised:

Anyway strip the thing down and it looks like it had a hack repair in the past as the pin was part of an allen key.

Anyway taking a trip to the LHS but wondering if common to be able to get replacement pins for CVD's.

Thanks

I use hardened steel pins from a hardware store. way better than weak rc pins.
I dremel a flat spot and never had pin problems.

would the shaft of a drill bit do if I'm in a pinch?

Having a UE SM, you learn things like this since replacement pins are non-existent. Shank of the right size drill bit does a fine job. I got tired of doing that and found the right size pins from McMaster Carr.

Hey Chris, did I sell you that lsp? If so, I did not repair it myself, must have been like that before I got it. I have used drill shanks for pins.

I found the Mcmaster website and WOW :surprised: they have everything. I will now just buy a pack of 100 for like 7 bucks and be done with it. You can get just about any size existing. GREAT FIND!

Yes lincpimp you sold it to me - Could you send me a fingerprint sample to verify... or a refund of 2 x purchase price for pain and suffering of seeing my MMM unused would be ok.

If I can work out the size I'll buy some.... I think I will first try LHS and worst case I has a drill bit that looked pretty good at home that hopefully will get me going again...

I want to see if my MMM with die...

PS those talon's any use? No one have a masher spare or what 3?

One of the HPI pins like Z264 (2x10) may fit but you should check the measurements first. I don't know how much was changed on the CVD's in the LS2P so measuring mine won't help much.

Mine is a straight LSP but has a different 17mm conversion on - Not sure which and can't get pics up now.

Linc any ideas
