New E Revo Battery Compartment size? Anyone know?
Does anyone know just how much room is in the E Revo Battery Compartment?
I've been searching high and low to find this information. No luck Yet. Thanks |
Zinno, a Traxxas employee, confirmed to me yesterday that the battery trays are 156mm L X 50mm D X 29mm H. That's inside to inside measurements.
Here's a copy of the PM message from the Traxxas Boards... Re: Battery Tray Dimensions Quote:

The only battery that I could find that would fit was from Max Amps. So I ordered two 2s2p 8k's to run as a 4s. |
That did suck to find out as I want to use my TrueRC lipos instead of the maxamps ones. I am going to take another look however at my actual lipos here and see how much of the MM is actual heatshrink wrap that is pliable versus actual pack. I also pm'd truerc to see what they say about there packs if its a hard 30mm or if there is some give.
I do know I had to add some spacers to fit the packs in my Emaxx 3905 even with the 28mm holddowns. |
flight power 3s 5000 will also fit... you can run 6s
|
For me at least, unfortunately RC Pro series rules for me only allow 4S.
From my understanding: 14.8V 8000mah = 118.4 Whr 22.2V 5000mah = 111.0 Whr very close though as theoretically on my calculations (could be wrong here), assuming 25 minute run with the 8000mah packs, should see about a 2 min drop for the 5000mah, not taking into any account efficiencies with more voltage. |

Dan has said before that he's using Enerland packs. I am hoping the new batch of cells he mentions are each a faction thinner than the old batch. Maybe we'll get lucky and the difference will add up to a couple of millimeters. /crosses fingers |
