New E Revo Battery Compartment size? Anyone know?

Does anyone know just how much room is in the E Revo Battery Compartment?

I've been searching high and low to find this information. No luck Yet.

Thanks

Zinno, a Traxxas employee, confirmed to me yesterday that the battery trays are 156mm L X 50mm D X 29mm H. That's inside to inside measurements.

Here's a copy of the PM message from the Traxxas Boards...

Those, like me, that have pre-ordered are trying to get battery packs ordered ahead of time and would really like to know the exact internal dimensions of the battery boxes so we can order batteries with the confidence that they will fit.

Thanks !

The only battery that I could find that would fit was from Max Amps. So I ordered two 2s2p 8k's to run as a 4s.

That did suck to find out as I want to use my TrueRC lipos instead of the maxamps ones. I am going to take another look however at my actual lipos here and see how much of the MM is actual heatshrink wrap that is pliable versus actual pack. I also pm'd truerc to see what they say about there packs if its a hard 30mm or if there is some give.

I do know I had to add some spacers to fit the packs in my Emaxx 3905 even with the 28mm holddowns.

flight power 3s 5000 will also fit... you can run 6s

For me at least, unfortunately RC Pro series rules for me only allow 4S.

From my understanding:

14.8V 8000mah = 118.4 Whr
22.2V 5000mah = 111.0 Whr

very close though as theoretically on my calculations (could be wrong here), assuming 25 minute run with the 8000mah packs, should see about a 2 min drop for the 5000mah, not taking into any account efficiencies with more voltage.

Hey Dan, I was just wondering if the measurements of your 2cell 15C 8k's pack on the web site is dead on accurate. I'm looking for some lipos for the soon to arrive ERevo and the battery tray dimensions are 165mm L x 51mm W x 30mm H. As you can see, the hieght of the tray and your battery are the same. I'm hoping that there would be enough wiggle room to make this combination fit.

Of course, I'm buying batteries before I have the truck in front of me, so there's some hesitation there, wanting to make sure this will all come together correctly.

Oh, I see this was back before we got confirmation on the actual battery box dimensions. No matter. 30mm high is 30mm high, either way.

Dan has said before that he's using Enerland packs. I am hoping the new batch of cells he mentions are each a faction thinner than the old batch. Maybe we'll get lucky and the difference will add up to a couple of millimeters.

/crosses fingers
