1/8 Buggy tires for pavement??
 

Any suggestions?

I've run the Sportwerks Hot Laps "Autocross" 1/8 Mounted Buggy Tires and although the tires are great for pavement they are crap and rip off the rims to easily (there is no locking bead to hold them in place on the stock rims they come mounted to).

The ProLine Badlands are great - but they wear down after about 4 runs. Much better for grass and dirt bashing.

Was considering the MOABs, but I remember having a set in the past a fews years ago and they didn't have much stick.

Maybe the Road Rage? I remember reading posts which said they kinda suck though.

I run moabs on my raze, they are too soft of a compound for my liking.. they have worn50 percent of the tread away in 4 packs....

I like to run the hard foams when I run a brushless vehicle on the street, its the only tire that wont balloon they will lose traction in a dirty enviorment though here is a link to what I am running on my Rustler

I've considered foamies - how many runs does a set last for?

Ofna has a set of 1/8 buggy on-road premounts at my LHS that I've had my eye on. They're $27 a pair and have a nice tread design.

They've also got slicks and foams for 1/8. Maybe I'll pick them up today and try them out. Thanks for the heads up on the Sportwerks tires. I've got a set of Badlands copies on my buggy that are a lot harder than the Pro-line Badlands so they should last longer on pavement, plus I picked them up for $20 for a set of 4.....pre-mounted! :smile:

it all depends on the compound the softer it is the faster it will wear but will have more traction. Mine have lasted me a year now and are still going strong I am probubly good for 1 30 min session a week, some times I cant make it every week but I try...I am satisfied with the results though. The wheels I have a link to did reduce the distance between the wheels I have recently bought the FLM extended arms and will run that with a set of Jato drivelines I havnt had a chance to install them yet

Gotta link for the copies? $60 for a set of the real ones can get a bit costly for bashing.

do the fake badlands come in a monster truck size? I am looking for some for my Revo

Unfortunately they only come in buggy sizes. I don't remember the brand...I'll have to check my LHS to see. They're regularly $15 a pair, but he had a sale a while ago. I didn't even have a buggy at the time but bought them anyway. They don't have them listed on their website, but you may be able to call or email them.

Best tires I have found so far for pavement. I'm almost hesitating letting the secret out.... They are already out of stock alot of the time.

I'd like to order a set and check them out. If you have a set on hand now can you tell me the outside diameter of the tire? The off-road 1/8 buggy tires seem to average around 4.4" and curious where these fall - just to calculate for gearing.

No. They don't balloon hardly at all.

They are a bit smaller in diameter than standard off road buggy tires at about 3.8 inches diameter. The shore 45 "soft" tires are a little more grippy than the 55s, but they wear slightly faster. Both are good IMO, but I like the 45s better personally.
