TrueRC LiPos
 

Hello!

Going to buy an E-Maxx (the new version 16.8V)to have something to play with in the winter:smile:. I was first thinking of using my Ni-Mh packs for my 1:10 buggies or buy some new NiMh's because I can't afford to buy some expensive PQ, FP or MaxAmp LiPos. Then I find TrueRC, what a price! Just 40$ for a 4000mAh 2s Pack! It's less than a good NiMh. The questions if; would a TrueRC LiPo work in an E-Maxx? As I can see it's only 40A cont. and 60A burst:tongue:... But they say that they had run them in E-Maxxes...It's a little confusing because 40A isn't much, so what do you think?

That is only a 10c pack... Get 4 of them.... 4s 8000 should be ok...

Well, that's too expensive then again...What about the 2s 4000mAh 15c?

true rc uses the same cells as max amps. With quality comes price. Buy good quality cells or dont waste your money. Save up and get the good stuff you will be happier in the end.

OK, that's probably a good idea. I'll use my buggy batteries to begin with, and save up for some better LiPos

enerland based cells are really good. This includes FlightPower packs and others that i forget but other members can enlighten you on. Maxamps i have had puffing issues on multiple occasions. Once i sifted out the bad cells that puffed the maxamps have been good but the inconsistency of the quality made it so i will never buy maxamps again. I own flighpower now and couldn't be happier.

Well that is what i heard so just passing on info. Someone on these forums said they contacted the guy that runs truerc and he said he buys from the same place as maxamps. So proof? Well i have none but maybe the other member that said this does??? All i do know is my maxamps have puffed and are not that great in quality price ratio.

From what I have seen the true rc cells are not exactly the same as maxamps cells, how ever the performance seems to be about the same. I have had a bunch of maxamps lipos, and returned about 75% of them for replacement. It seems like members here have had great success with true rc packs, I am sure a pair of the 15c 4000mah lipos would work fine with a stock emaxx. You would need to run a seperate lvc, like a li-saver or novak smart stop module. The evx2 does not have a lvc built in.

If Maxamps packs puff and True RC ones don't, that alone tells me that the cells aren't the same.

In the past I think it was true that True RC and Maxamps used the same cells, but I don't think they currently do.

yeah it was more than a month ago when i read this... It is good they are not the same anymore cause truerc has really great prices.

I don't care what anyone says, the TrueRC packs perform better than a higher rated maxamps pack. Less voltage drop, less heat created, more punch, better runtimes. What more do you want ? This is comparing maxamps 4s1p 5000mAh 20C to TrueRC 4s2p 8000mAh 10c.

Now maxamps says "hey wait! you can't compare a 5000mAh to an 8000mAh!!!" I say I can, especially if the 8000 is cheaper, and has a lower overall amp rating. If the maxamps is rated at 100A continuous, and the TrueRC is rated at 80A continuous, then at 75A the maxamps SHOULD have less voltage drop, and less heat created. However, this does not seem to be the case.

Go with the TrueRC. Choose a pack that will be right for your amp draw, and you will not be disappointed.

Agree 100%. But just remember, battery ratings are all over the place, and are no way to compare lipos. You must buy from the mfg who has the best advertising, they have the best products.

That last part was pure satire, but I think that is the basis for most arguments. Especially if you read the NK forum, people their claim that MA is the best, yet have never tried any other mfg lipo?!?!?

any cheap copy on ebay - BAD

I am also very happy with my 5S 5000 mah True RC packs.
