Drivetrain advice - Novak HV setup

I just recently put a HV novak set up in my emaxx.
I'm running 2 - 6 cell 7.2 v 3300 packs. Right away I hear something grinding when taking off and breaking, but I can tell if it's something in the tranny or just the diff's. My drive train is stock except for the CVD's. Those are all metal. I was just looking for some advice on what to replace first. The idler gears in the tranny, the gears in the diff, alum housings for the diffs???
Any info would be appreciated. Looking for the cheapest initial quick fix.

Thanks...

First of all, welcome to the forums!
My money is on the diffs. The pinion gear is most likely jumping the ring gear, due to flex in the plastic case. A set of aluminum cases will cure this. Here is the link:

Thanks Mike. I will try that first. Would you also suggest going with tougher idler gears in the tranny?

It can't hurt to put the steel idlers in the tranny. I put idlers when I had Titans/EVX in there.

Those idlers are a weak link.. replacing them is a good idea!

Idlers are a great upgrade, as are aluminum diff cups to go along with the cases. Tyhe problem right now is the cases. Once this is fixed, the weak link will move elsewhere(idle, diff cups).

To get a decent drive line. I would put the diff cups with robinson gears. Have the aluminum diff housing to stop flex. I would put the steel idlers in. That should hold you for a little bit. If you want maximim diff durablity. The UE diffs are the stuff. Add up all the stuff you going to buy for the upgrade of stock and compare prices before. Just a suggestion.
