Recomendations for a good stick pack?

I am working on making my Cen ME16 faster and I am now down to the battery. It only fits 6-cell sub-c stick packs and I am looking for as much amperage and runtime as possible (within reason).

I see that Cheapbatterypacks.com has Elite 4700 MAH calls upgraded to being soldered diectly together (as opposed to those thin tabs they use) for under $50 each. Has anyone had any experiece with these?

I've been looking at that CEN for a bit now and based on the measurements of a 6-cell stick pack, I think the following TP eXtreme V2 pack would fit very nicely (with maybe just a little padding to keep it snug):

TP2600-3SXV (25C cont/50C burst)

11.1V 3-Cell

215g

22x41x125

With a ~2500-3000kv motor that would give you a rockin' ride.

Elite cells are good, if you wanted to go lipo, orion/peak have the 3200 and 3600 2s packs that are shaped to fit in those trays. I run a 3200 2s orion in my m03 that has a similar tray. Those lipos use kokam cells, and can push pretty hard. Run that and a 7700 mamba setup and the me16 will be fast....

Linc - I had one of the Orion packs and they are good - but don't they require the 4mm bullet connectors that go in from the top? It's a pretty sealed looking battery tray and that may be an issue unless you can get the wires coming right out of the side of the pack.

Yeah, the plugs do go in the top on one end. Is the tray on the me16 completely sealed save for the end?

Yeah, it is sealed but I guess you could drill holes for access.

Actually I just did a little research and it looks like Hyperion 3700mah 3s lipos would fit right in. That way I would be able to use a Fiegao 8s or a Medusa 50mm motor.... WOW that would be a little rocket!! The only problem is the batteries cost about $120 each, or 2.5 times the cost of the above stick packs.

If you are thinking about elite cells, they have great voltage. My elite 8 cell 3600 pack only got 70-80 cycles before 3 of the cells went bad though. You can't charge those Nimh cells in faster than 80 min or they will die fast (this one was charged slower than 1C every time). IB or GP cells will give you more cycles, maybe twice that.
