Happy with Neu 1515 1Y
I finally got my motor mount made for my LST2 and got to run it last night. I realized that I don't have enough back yard to get it wound all the way out. I am quite happy with the Neu 1515 1Y S...great improvement over the 8XL.
LST2 / stock gearing / 13 pounds / Neu 1515 1Y S / Hydra 120 / PolyRc 5S 4350 mah battery / Integy heatsink & fan combo. I ran almost the whole battery across the back yard. The grass had been cut earlier in the day. With 88 degree air temp: Motor was 156, ESC was 130, and battery was 116. The temps seem pretty good to me. |
i said the same thing when i went to a 1y from an 8xl. Tons difference, i don't think i will ever get anything but neu now.

Just want to know if 156 degre for a Neu 1515 and 130 degre for a controller is too high:neutral:

Maybe a little on the high side, but you were running in grass after all. On dirt or pavement, temps are sure to be better.

My setup is in a RC8 buggy, and i think that the electronic is little tight in a buggy, and the air flow arround it is near to be innexistant.
When my same setup was in my Mugen truggy, with near 3 pounds more, my NEU motor and MGM controller was cooler than it is in my buggy:neutral: I've run my RC8 this week-end on pavement, and in a realy hot 92 degree ambiant temperature, my motor was 133 degree and controller 135 degree. My li-po was 110 degree. find it little high, but i had no cooling hole on my RC8 body:whistle: Now i've completly remove the front window and make 3 bigs 1/2 hole just behind the motor and ESC with my body reamer. |
Those sound like pretty decent temps to me.
I've been considering cutting out my front window (currently have a nice mesh of small holes drilled). Has anyone tried putting a piece of screen or something across the window to prevent debris from flying into the internals? |
I've been a Neu fanatic ever since I made the switch a while back. Cool temps, absolutely awesome torque and some of the best support anywhere. The 1521 I got from Mike throws my Savage around like it's weightless.

Had a guy tell me yesterday that Neu are crap and ill be sorry (on another forum), couldn't help but to laugh but didn't bother replying, people like that, that when talking to you fell like you are talking to a brick wall
