use my 3s on 10xl?
could i use my 3s 5000 maxamps pack in my truggy just to fart around with and test out the truck, the speed calculator says the motor would turn a about 19,000 rpm lol and only 23-26 mph with the gearing i have availible pretty slow i know but if it wont over load the battery and nothing else is gonna run hot id like to throw my mm and cc bec in there with the 3s and try it?
i guess i should have went with a 4s setup so i could have already been racing on a modded mm instead of waiting. i was also told by dirt101 that he ran his revo on 5s but couldnt charge the 5s over 20.5v or 4.1 volts percell or the mm wouldnt arm is this the same for the newer model mm ? if so how many others have actually ran 5s with out problems, i read some peoples wont arm and some cook when they are plugged in? im ready to race this thing...... |
With 19000rpm and 23-26mph i don't think you will overload your battery. I would try it. Check the temperature of your battery pack from time to time while you test your setup.
Sorry, can't give you any answer concerning 5s and the MM. |
Try it on 3s, im telling you. you will have more fun than you think. my neu is only 1700k/v which is very similar to the 1668 on the 10xl. I have fun with mine.

im guessing this is gonna be about like a stock emaxx power wise which would be enough jsut to test it out. i just wanted to make sure im not gonna overtax the stupid maxamps pack, cause its lasted me a long time so far inthe LS10 and i dont wanna have to buy a new battery for it.

it shouldnt. my true rc 6400s never get over 105 in this 95F weather. Im sure its over 100 there but it should be to bad.
it just so happens a buddy of mine has an emaxx. Top speed feels similar to an emaxx, but I can out accelerate an emaxx. |
I've used my neu 1515 2.5d (1650kv) a few times on 3s in my e-maxx and my truggy. 10xl is basically the same rpm.
With a final drive ratio of ~12.5:1 it's was geared for ~25mph, which seemed about right, because it looked similar to stock 12 cells e-maxx speed and power. Nothing impressive, but still enough to have fun with. After 10-15 minutes of casual practice on a grass track nothing was warm at all, and I don't think I had to put much mah back into the pack, so it's seemed good for runtime. I think it's worth trying. I think temps should be ok, but like every new setup just check things fairly regularly until you get an idea of how temps will be. |
