overheating!!!motor
 

im running my maxx on 4 cell neuenergy,mmm and a 6xl motor 2770kv
gearing 20/68 and my motor get warm really quick(188f*)my esc is 90f and my pack are 98f....i try a 16t pinion and same thing....lowing down my esc settup and the best that i reach is 167f
my maxx is 9.8lbs rtr!!!!w.t.f!!!
im tired of cheap motor:yes:im looking for a neu1512(3200kv)it is a good motor for a 10 pound maxx???

The 6XL will get hot quickly on 4S. There's really not much you can do about it other than gear down as much as possible or buy a new motor.

Also, the 3200kV Neu 1512 is really too high a kv for 4S IMO. I wouldn't go any higher than a 1512/1Y at 2750kv. However, I think a 1515/1Y is probably a better choice.

should not overheating????my 2770 feigao get hot...the 2700kv neu does not do the same thing???

The Neu is a much more efficient motor and won't dissipate as much heat as the Feigao.

It is enough... you just have to gear up. I am at about 39mph with a 1700KV motor.

With the right gearing and 6s you should do it easily.

jeez, here i was thinking that the 1512 2D would be too much on 4s, i hope its not, aiming for 35mph. :)

good luck, i almost laughed when i saw your motor, as people have trouble with 7xl sometimes!! (please dont take offense, but the motors should be great for a touring car :D)

I just have to try it at least once, but taking yours and others advice I will probably wind up at 5s.

yeah 5s IMO is best on the 1515 1y have tried 4s and actually seems to run no warmer on 5s than 4s. Might actually be cooler have to buy a new temp gun for mine broke.

Now i'am in a big dilema. In my Mugen truggy, i've a 1515 1Y on 4s, and i'am gear 15/46, for a speed of about 40mph (on BrianG calculator).
Now, i don't know if i'll sell my 1515 1Y and buy a 1515 2.5d and run it on 6s, with a 14T pinion for a speed of about 42mph, or run this 2.5d on 5s, gear 16/46 for 40 mph, or simply keep my 1515 1Y and run it on 5s, on 14/46 for a speed of 47mph.
I can't go smaller of 14T on pinion to keep my mechanical brake.

My choice is.... give the 1y to me and buy the 2.5d :lol:
No really the 1y is fine on 5s so you can do that but 6s on the 2.5d will be sweet. If you decide on the 2.5d i am interested in your 1y :mdr:
