MMM Cogging-ideas????

Ok, what am I doing wrong? When I fully accelerate the MMM Neu will cog. I am using Castle link v3.051, a Neu 1515 1y on 4s.

My settings are:

MMM
Brake/reverse proportional w/ reverse
Brake 40%
Reverse throttle 40%
Punch 0%
Drag brake 10%
Start power high
Motor timing 10
Throttle curve linear

are you using v1.17?

mkrusedc 06.13.2008 10:42 PM

No 3.051. Will that fix it?

3.05 is the Castlelink and V1.17 is the actual software on the program on your computer, hookn up the esc and you will have a dropdown back and it should be there it is the latest SW that CC has released it did help a lot with cogging, if that doesnt help I would say your batteries are deficent

Sounds to me like the batteries aren't keeping up...

I am pretty sure I have the lastest firmware...checking now.

Batteries are TrackPowers 2s1p 4900 mAh

Edit: Downloading latest firmware now. I did not have it. thanks!!

also I HIGHLY suggest you run the ESC at low power start up you dont want the high power start, it advances the timing and your motor will run much hotter and you dont need that much

Start up may need to be set to high to get the neu to start well. High timing setting will cause motor heat. Also, some punch control will help with runtime. I have to run high start power with my plett with a MM, have not tried it yet with a MMM.

Firmware did not work it still cogged. I am current balancing/charging the batts and for the first time the "fuel indicator" on the trakpower balancer is completely empty(nothing is lit up)..?

bdebde 06.13.2008 11:17 PM

Battery bad?

mkrusedc 06.13.2008 11:18 PM

Duh, never mind. I must have had it turned off. "Orange" on both cells meaning 20-50% charge.

Arct1k 06.13.2008 11:36 PM

Suggestions - Start power low; timing low; punch 10%

Check all of your solder joints and motor connections...

Do you think it could be radio interference. It happens more at far distances and so far never near me? I have everything (antenna, rx, esc, motor wires) in the wrong place:

It looks like you have the reciever right under the power wires. If so i would bet money thats gonna hurt you. I remember i was racing once and i was getting this CRAZY glitching. I thought for sure someone was on my channel. After taking my t2 into the pits because it was undrivable. I relized the power wires were actualy bouncing on the top of the reciever and actualy touching the crystal. Tucked the wires out of the way and viola, No glitching the rest of the day. Move that reciever!

it is possible...especially after looking at the pic and seeing how close the RX is to the power wires to the ESC,,,I would try to mount the Rx towards the front of the truck
