Choose my motor!!
Building a custom Twin Force project...
-Custom lengthened chassis -Hardened driveshafts from RC Alloys -Hardened ring/pinions -Dace adpaters with 40 series Mashers/Cheyenne Rims -Custom Cantilevers with UE Supermaxx shocks -Custom center tranny parts, machined a Jato Slipper/Spur setup to work Now.. I'll be running a MMM (when the new run is released) and 6s 5000 MaH Zippy-H packs Truck weighs 10 Lbs with everything except the motor basically. Scale is only accurate to .5 lbs, so say 10-10.5 lbs + motor I am really looking at the Neu 1521/1Y/F (will have to redo center tranny, because I don't think the fins will clear as it is now) I have read a couple posts, and I agree with what I saw Lutach say, that because it will have so much torque, the amp draw should be less to do the same work as say a 1515 sized Neu. So my question is... should I switch and go for a 1515/2.5D or just say screw it and go for it all with the 1521/1Y? I figure I can always turn the settings down if it is too crazy. The 1521 is only like $20 more... so it really has nothing to do with cost. I am just curious if my runtime would be getter with a 1515 vs a 1521 or does it really matter.. Thanks! -Cory |
You will love the 1521/1Y on 6S. If you choose to go with a higher voltage go with the 1521/1.5Y for 10S or the 1521/2Y for 12S. Make sure you gear your truck for the speed you desire, but around 40mph is plenty fast for any big truck. Here is a little video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFoYkI_-v_M it gets good at 2:30. Make sure you get a top notch lipos.

myself I would go with the more conservative approach and go with the 2.5d I have that same setup in a converted and mostly stock 3.3 Revo and it is plenty...but your setup is heavier and more upgraded than mine

just go all out with a 1527/1d.

i know it was kind of ment as a joke. thats alot of power for a 10-12 lb truck.
im starting to think about getting one tho for my boat and trying it in my revo first if i like it i might have to get a second. |
not to clutter the thread but im thinking about getting a bonzi sports 84 in apache and building it up only brushless. with 2 1527/1.5d on 8s each thell spin 44,400 rpms. each will have a cc hydra 240 hv esc. should be a fun project if i ever get that federal check
