i have to replace bulkheads, anything i should check/lube?
 

since im replacing the bulkheads, should i open up the diffs? my emaxx 3905 is about 3 months old but its been in the water quite a few times but runs fine. should i open up the diffs anyways to see if everything is in working order? what should i check for once im in there, and where do i lube and how much? all i have is team associated stealth diff lube and black grease, will that work just fine? sorry for the questions, i have never opened up a diff before.

since you are going to be replacing your bulks... if you had any ideas what so ever of upgrading your diffs I would do it now.....I have been thinking about the RCM Hybrid Diffs.....I dont know if those diffs have a seal/gasket if they dont stay with a grease and if they do you can use oil and go with little heavier with the front diffs

nah i dont plan on upgrading the diff or diff cases. thanks for the input tho. i just need to know if i should bother opening up the case and if so, is there a proper way to lube it? can i just add the team associated stealth diff lube along with the lube thats already in the case, or should i clean out all the lube that came with the truck first?

You can take the 4 screws off the corners and open the outer casing, dab some grease around the ring gear it will make 'em a bit quieter, but I wouldnt open the inner diff carrier case unless you want to put in new diff oil, if so you may need to buy a new seal kit or they might leak. link Id just leave 'em alone unless you want thicker oil for your new brushless setup. If they break they are $16 on ebay. Im running 75k front 50k rear oil

ahhh ok i think i get it for the most part, i just looked at the exploded view on my manual. and wow it looks super crazy and confusing. im definitely not gonna open the diff case. just the outer case to clean the bearings. thanks for everybodys help.

If you find water inside, I'd open the diff and make sure its not contaminated with water also. Water can thin diff fluid and your diff action will goes away.

They are not that complicated and you've done 90% of the work already just to get there. I never pass on a chance to make sure the guts in a diff is ok.
