just curious to wut u guys think. I've only ran a sensore brushless so i never really known how a non-sensored is. Just wondering.

Sensored is older technology. The sensored controllers are MUCH lower technologically than sensorless controllers. Sensorless has to be the future, as it can improve and sensored can't really.

Sensored systems are generally less powerful, like the Novak, and thus will be used as an entry into the world of BL. From there, they will then have Lehners and Hackers and Feigaos and even Plett's availible to use. I wouldn't totally knock sensored systems, I'd rather not have one, but they have their place.

doesn't Aveox still used Sensored Brushless....
I'm on the Sensorless boat.... Everything is better when it's UNSENSORED.... Would you really like to watch GGW, sensored... H*ll No... :) j/k :)

for that reason only, i'm sticking with sensorless.. The current sensorless systems are very smooth, nothing like the 1st sensorless setups!

There is no difference in potential power between sensored and sensorless. For example, if I ran my novak ss5800 motor on my mgm 12012, the ss5800 would become a sensorless motor and it would have the same amount of power as it did when it was hooked up to the ss esc. Sensorless motors may be more powerful than sensored motors because sensorless motors are generally delta wound and all the sensored motors seem to be wye wound.

I disagree. speedy. I have a hv maxx. Hooked it up to a schulze 18.97kwf. It did not do as good as when hooked to the novak. The sensored has the ablity to adjust the timing which in turn makes more power and smoother motor. I not sure about the 5800. I do know about the hv maxx. It blows with out the controller. It has terible cogging or sucky top end.

Did you played with the timing on your 18.97 Coolhand? or the frequency? (9/19khz?)

Yeah, timing can be adjusted on sensorless controllers too. Generally, the Novak motors won't run really well at all on anything but sensored controllers (just how it goes for some reason).

Sure did serum. I tried all the settings. The lower timing helped on the cogging but it sucked on topend. the more time had bad cogging with novak topend. tried different cell counts as well. 12 14 even 18 cells. I was trying to kill it.

My Himaxx 2825(small motor) had more balls than the HV-Maxx.....

It seems pretty hard to compare the two systems since there aren't very many high end sensored systems out there (non I've seen anyway) but I will play devils advocate and say that between the two, the sensored system will be the better and more efficient system.
I own a Delta wind sensored motor/controller and have not seen a similar sensorless combo that compares to its power and efficiency. My motor is a maxcim N32 which I run on my E-Revo on 16-18 cells geared for 40mph and it runs cool without fans and blows by nitro's like there's no tomorrow :cool:
The dimensions and kv are closest to the 10L
I have raced the system all the way up to 20 cells geared for 40mph within acceptable temps ~160-170F.
With GP2200's I get up to 15 minute runtimes during racing conditions.
I just wish Tom would have continued to make the maxcim sensored motors. I would have really liked to see a higher end maxcim similar to the 8XL or 9XL.
I am looking at getting a new sensorless system soon so I will have something to compare it to...

What esc did you run with that motor starscream?
