Poles in motors.

Hey guy's,

When poles are being referred to in bl in/outrunners, what exactly is this referring to?

How many poles is a Feigao 6xl?

A Feigao is 2 pole. One magnet N/S. A 4 pole is four magnet N/S/N/S and so forth. The higher the pole the lower the Kv, but you get more torque. There's a math that someone posted in another thread that explains this in real deep engineering detail (I have no clue where it is though).

Normally a pole is the magnetic pole count. Feigao motors are two pole, a north and a south. An outrunner with dLRK construction (most common in outrunners) will have a 14 poles.

Cool thanks.

Question answered.

Did I beat the great Holmes? :yipi::yipi::yipi::tongue:

John, I got some cool stuff coming in soon and I'll make a new thread about them when they get here.
