Brushless Truggy gearing

I'm working on a brushless truggy conversion for my hyper 7 PBS. I plan on using the dominator center slipper with a 65T plastic spur. I was calculating the ratios, and with a 12T pinion I get about 16.6:1 from the motor to the wheels. This seems too high to efficiently turn Maxx size tires. Does anyone know of any mod 1 pinions below 12T? The optimum gearing of around 24:1 would require a 8T pinion. Should I just go with a e-maxx tranny or maybe another modified twin force tranny similar to my E-savage?

Optimal gearing also depends on motor and cell count. Could you please give this stats?

Probably a 10L on 14 like my savage. It's roughly 24:1 and I really like how it runs.

If the buggy is lighter. You can run a higher gear.

Get a 7XL! that's my opinion! and that ratio you'r handling is good to go!

So, a 7XL at about 16:1 on 14 cells would work well with maxx tires on not overheat the 9920?

Yep, the 7XL will do good on this reduction rate. A fan on the ESC never hurts, though.
