Question on FLM Rustler Chassis
Does this kit
http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...PEDEKIT&cat=31 for the rustler have the upper chassis plate included? |
No, it doesn't come with the upper plate for the servo/steering assembly.
|
Okay. Thanks for the clarification.

It's so long you really don't need it as there is plenty of room. On mine I had 3s 5000 mah lipo, receiver, and the MM with room left to spare. I would say about 2 inches of extra space down the length of the chassis.

You lost me on that one. I steered with a steering servo and the linkage. I don't really know what you are after.

That chassis works like the stampede chassis and doesn't need the upper.

Do you use a different steering linkage ? I dont see how the top of the bellcranks would be supported, this is my FLM rustler (never run not done lol)

It doesn't use steering linkage like that. The servo mounts upside in the front of the chassis. The tie rods from the axle carriers hook directly to the servo saver. Basically the extended chassis is the stampede design but can be made to work as a rustler as well.

I think I get it, you are referring to the Chassis in the picture he (bl_rvo) linked too on Mikes site. That chassis is the Stampede chassis (which I have also), you pull down the ordering tab and can choose a Rustler chassis but there isnt a picture, which is like the one I pictured above only mines black anodized. The main difference is the steering bell cranks which are much better IMO than the Stampede design and the tranny case is bolted directly ontop of the chassis for a low COG.... at least thats how i think this became turned around. I thought you got rid of the upper deck on a rustler and saved some weight.
