My E-RC8, 22.2 Volts and a 1515 2.5D ;)

Setup:

RC8
NEU 1515 2.5D
Maxamps 6s1p 4000mah
Mamba monster, without the fan, open case mod

Love this setup, gear up and you have a monster, gear down and you can run forever. Runs cool and a long time. And a LOT of fun!

High voltage is your friend. ;)

Nice setup! I run the same in a much heavier rig. It must run forever without heating up (with enough batts).

DRIFT_BUGGY 06.21.2008 05:40 PM

Nice work, does the MMM get any air flow from back there?

micke_b 06.21.2008 06:06 PM

Thanks.

The MMM stays really cool, no problem running without a fan even if I run 20-30 mins straight with this setup and the right gearing. Then I change battery and run another 20-30 mins. ;) Even when I gear high it stays cool and the NEU to. This setup has no need fo fans. :D

nice conversion, but can i ask, what are the dimensions of the plastic side guards. the reason i ask, is because ive got a hyper 8, and i accidently brought an rc8 shell, thinking it would fit, but when i had painted it out and put it on, the side guards stick out a bit each side, so if these were thin enough (they look liek they might work!) i can still sue my body :)

so i want to know, maximum width, the height of the lip on the edge and how far apart (as accurate as possible) are the mounting screw thingys, and the total length!

sorry for such a demand, but you seem like a good person to ask :)

Have a little uppdate on my buggy, the rc-monster battery holder broke, so I've monted a rcpd one instead. Feels very solid but to bad that the battery is moved out so far from the center. :/

Still preatty happy with the installation thougth:

Also put on a new body with a little new color on it:

Had to move the esc, servo and rx as far to the right as possible to get the right / left balance right. Got it preatty good finaly.

I love my 1515/2.5, I to can't get it hot either

lutach 08.04.2008 02:05 AM

Gotta love HV. Too bad the MOFOS at ROAR are too (How can I put this in a nice way) STUPID to realize the true benefits of a good HV set up. I hope I don't get kicked out of this forum because of my feelings towards ROAR.

slimthelineman 08.04.2008 10:07 PM

how much does it wiegh?

wow i like your setup especially the 1515 and the batt tray. any ideas on how much it wieghs? i tried keeping mine light but.... its not looking to good.
and YES to High Voltage, without it life would literally not exist as we know it

micke_b 08.05.2008 04:53 AM

Thanks.

The weight as it is now is 3737 grams, that is with body and everything as it runs on the track. Not to bad, but there are defently lighter setups out there.

But the weight is not a problem, got to much power anyway and the weight just helps putting it to the ground. ;) A little "fat" is just good in an offroad car I think, then it won't get so uppset by bumps as a lighter car ..

Very nice rc8 good work, I really dig the battery tray and the black wires.

micke_b 08.24.2008 02:31 PM

Thanks, black wires do really help make a electric car much cleaner looking.

Fast5sRevo88 09.17.2008 08:57 PM

What gearing do u usually run when not making a video?

BlackedOutREVO 09.17.2008 09:28 PM

Kind of off topic, but is that your T2008? With the NEU and mm?

Nice looking conversion! Is that black wire, or shrink tube?

micke_b 09.18.2008 01:26 AM

Thanks, jepp I have a T2008 with a NEU 1110 - 1.5D runs really nice. Its shrink tube on the wires.

When not showing off. ;) I run with a 13thoth pinion and a 44t diff gear. top speed around 50-55 km/h which is enougth for the tracks around here.
