I love watching drag racing. All the power you could ever want. Today is going to be a day I might not forget for a while. One of my favorite Funny Car driver lost his life. I was almost crying my A$$ off when Tony Pedregon was talking to one of the reporters from ESPN when he mentioned what his son told him. I don't know what else to say.

Sad Day Indeed.
Yeh the news spread pretty quickly. He is being mentioned in every sporting event on the tube. He was a great competitor and a good man in the racing scene. He will be sorely missed. It brought me back to the day when Dale died at the Daytona speedway NASCAR race. This was another accident that up front just did not look like it was going to end like that. We have seen much worse crashes for sure, but you just never know what will happen. :eyes:

Nice..
Im in Mount Holly outside of burlington |
With the config of the motor in front in funny cars, I thinks its time to consider adding a safety capsule like hydroplanes use to try a better protect the drivers. Either that or change the rules and bring speeds down and I don't like that option.
Driver in a funny car is just too vulnerable sitting behind the motor even partially exposed. The sport lost a great one yesterday. |
