e-revo or e-maxx 3905
Which one to choose????
90% bashing and 10% track I'll run it with a Neu 1515 2.5d and flightpower 6s |
you can also buy a Nitro 3.3 roller and convert your self, this way you have a steel chassis....that is if you like projects mine took nearly 1 yr to complete... it seems like the stock e maxx/ t maxx need to be upgraded to come to the level as a stock Revo
|
Personally I would get the E Revo! The thing was designed and tested on 6s to be sure it will hold up to the extreme power of a good BL system. As far as handling the E Revo is superior! The E Revo can be a good racer or basher depending on what you want to use it for. The inboard suspension is stellar as well.

E=Revo
The new e revo is sweet...Had mine on the track for the first time yesterday...all I can say is way to go traxxas...
|
for the e-maxx 3906 no choice to invest some $$$$$:mdr:for the rought power of the mmm or a good brushless set-up...however the 3905 for my experience no need major upgrade to handle a lot of power...

Revo all the way. Excellent basher and racer.

Many different looks of the 3905
Hay David,
I'm a huge fan of the 3905, here are the many different looks / version of what is possible out there for you. Here is a stock 3905 Emax ($345.00) http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2191.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2190.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2188.jpg Here is what a 3905 duel V-Twin looks like (yes it takes a fricken beating) on 6s, the total investment was just under $1200 for everything. http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2074.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2143.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2142.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2144.jpg |
Here is an all Alu 3905 (heavy though). @ $1800
http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2156.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2157.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2161.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2165.jpg Here is the FLM setup for the 3905 @ $2100 http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2117.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2125.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2136.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2483.jpg |
Last but not least is the GorillaMaxx 3905 @ just under $2800
http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2583.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2604.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2625.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2733.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2736.jpg http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2734.jpg Bottom Line the stock Traxxas 3905 E Max is one hell of a basher!, 6s is really to fast for it, you can do wheelies @ 45+ mph but it is extremely unstable at those speeds in this truck. It’s a basher not a racer, to achieve these speeds you will need to of course upgrade all of the drive train The FLM version is a great basher and somewhat track friendly, however the GM version of the 3905 is totally awesome!. Mainly track but a basher no the less. Personnel opinion: Go with the E Revo, (not the new one) convert you own out of a 3.3 best investment you’ll make.. It will handle so much better than the 3905, it will be lighter than the 3905 and more impotently you will be much happier with the E-Revo.. |
I've ever convert a 3.3 into brushless and i don't want to remake it another time.
I want a stock machine that i'll only remove the stock electric and put my Neu motor, MGM and my li-po. Don't want to invest lot of money, this one will stay stock except for the brushless system. Just want to know wich one have the better tranny and better diffs. And as i can see the e-maxx have .8MOD gear, and all my gear that i have yet is MOD1. |

Yep! I've a Futaba 3PM FASST:yes:
But i don't understand why they change de gear on the e-revo for MOD 0.8?? On the nitro revo, they use MOD 1, and Traxxas i suppose to know that brushless i harder on the gear than nitro:neutral: I think that the E-Maxx have a simple design to work on. |
Forgot to ask you, is i need to modify something to put a single brushless motor on the new E-Maxx or E-revo??????

I believe the BL will bolt right up with no mods at least the drivetrain( diffs, drivelines) |
