Mamba max in a converted hyper 7

Hi after blowing up my 3rd quark controller i dont want another even under warenty so was wondering if my mamba max controller would be able to handle the power for the next few months till i get a MMM. It would be in a converted hyper 7 runing on 4 cell lipo would it cope or blow up? i can use either a 7XL or 8L which ever would be reliable.

What i want to know is will this setup be reliable and what gearinging should i start at if it will.

cheers

If you are planning on using a mm esc on 4s you need to disable the internal bec and get a external one. I run my mbx-5 on 4s w/a mm esc and a ccbec w/ no probs. I also have GriffinRu's mod 1 done to the esc whiich helps w/temps and for the larger cell batts. People have run the 8xl and seemed to have temp. issues on 4s. You might want to consider a Medusa motor...they seem to run cooler and are more reliable. Try the 2000kv motor and you can't beat the price!

i run it on 4 cell at the moment in a firestorm just not sure if it would cope pushing the extra weight, if people have problems using the 8XL i assum the 7XL is out of the question what about the 8L as i dont really want to buy a new motor just yet
