a couple of " anyway to fix this problem " questions
 

first problem is: my right tire/wheel on the front side and my left wheel/tire on the rear side wiggles.
if you grab the tire and wiggle it, it moves more than the others. its that type of wiggle where when you dont tighten the pillow balls tight enough, and you know how the tire will wiggle? but i can tighten them all the way and it will still wiggle? it moves where the yolk from the driveshaft and the axle carrier is. does the mean i need a new axle carrier?

my second problem is: one of my tires spin in a wierd. its not unbalanced because it doesnt spin lopsided or anything but picture this....i mark the center tire with red paint...( just like them new vantage tires ) instead of the red line spinning straight, it would spin in a squiggly line. all my other tires spin perfect.

sorry for the long post, just trying to be as descriptive as i can. please all help will be much apprecieated. if i was to have any petpeeves on rc vehicles...i only have two, and im having both of them right now..haha

Maybe you just need new bearings?

The first problem sounds like bearing slop like BLboy16 suggested. If the pillowballs are tight and the tire is fully seated on the hex, then that's the only explanation I can think of.

For the second problem, is this the same tire as problem #1? If not, and everythign feels tight, I wonder if the end of the shaft is bent a little.

great minds.. i thought of the bearings but dint think they can deform. if i was running bushings..i would have gotten them replaced already. but ill try changing the bearings from the "good side" wheel/tires and see if that works. do i change the big bearing or the smaller outter one?
and everything is tight on problem 2. and another good thinking about the shaft being bent. if it is, do i have to buy a whole new driveshaft. or do they sell just the shaft/yolk part?

Once you inspect the bearings, it should be fairly obvious what the cause is. If it were me, I'd replace both bearings if that's the issue.

Without knowing what vehicle you have, it's hard to know what driveshaft you're talking about. :wink:

Don't you have the 3905? Is so they are called stub axles, part #5454.

good memory haha. yea i have the 3905. wow you guys suggested bearings before i even stated the 3905...i guess this is a similiar problem for any vehicle.
thanks for the link. gosh, is there anyway i can tell if the shaft is bent first before i purchase the new one?

for #2. did you take the hex hub off the stub axle and check out the pin ? Kinda random, but using stock hex hubs and flipping down the street I used to bend 'em so bad I couldnt get 'em out without channel locks. That bit of bend caused a tad of wobble that would exponentially increase as I pulled the throttle. (obviously), goto 17mm !

the pins are straight.

problem one is solved. it was the bearings! i took them out and inspected them.. i couldnt see anything wrong with them. but when i spun them with my fingers, they felt gritty. like i feel a slight vibration and it also made some noise. i replaced both of them bearings with the ones i had in the back (since im going to get the rpm true tracks anyways, i wouldnt be needing them) and voila...wobble is to a minimal now. how does this happen with the bearings anyways, can i still fix my bearings...doesnt look warp in anyway, just seems dirty.

Well, since the inner and outer diameters probably aren't changing, I would say the "walls" that hold the balls steady (no comment from you lincpimp!) bent out causing them to shift from side to side. Check the lateral "give" on them.

it seems like the inner wall has slop moving up and down. oh well. not too worried bout it since its fixed now.
problem 2 is either the tire or rim problem. i put the bad tire/rim on another axle and i used the same hex hub and stub pin as the good tire/rim and same problem...spins in the squiggly line. i put a white dot on the tire to let me know which is the top and bottom of tire, disconnected one of the driveshafts, put the tire onto the axle and spun the wheel/tire by hand. the tire will stopped in random spots...white dot sometimes on top sometimes on bottom etc .. so this let me know that my tire is balanced...if it was heavier on a certain side. the heavier side should have always stopped on the bottom. i hope you guys understand what im saying. so can it be that my tires were glued crooked or something..or maybe the foam inside? anyway i can fix this problem? i glued the other 3 the exact same way and those are perfect. any suggestions?

Maybe the foam inside shifted?

actually, the tire is unbalanced. i guess the white dot thing didnt work as planned. i think the tire is heavier on one side because when i just have this tire installed, and i lift my truck with my hand and give it throttle, the truck would shake more than usual. but when i take that bad tire/wheel off and have just replace it with another tire/wheel, the shaking would be ALOT less. take note, i only have the front two tire/wheel installed.
why in the world would it do this, foam shifted like you said brian? if i boiled them , would that mess up my foams?man, maybe cus of the duct tape i put inside the tires...i might have done it bad or sumthing ..

Dunno. I do know that foam breaks down after a while, especially if it got wet at some point. Another reason why I wanna get air-filled tires...

hmm... ill just let them be then. if i boiled them to reglue, it might cause more havoc. these foams and wheels, and tires are brand new. never went in the water with them. at least i cleared up one out of the two probs. thanks for all the help guys!!
