Help with Super RS4 conversion
I picked up a HPI super RS4 roller in great shape. Thing is this, I need some assistance and options to mating the proper pinion gear to the 2 speed tranny spur. Any suggestions I'm open to.

FUNNY!!! You just beat me to it!!! |
I converted a Super Nitro RS4 a couple years ago,EXCELLENT chassis to work with. The width and long wheelbase make a very stable topspeed runner and handle almost as good as an 1/8 scale onroad car.I kept mine single speed though.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am going to convert it to a one speed, i think the transmission was shot though. i got everything off the chassis for some much needed cleaning. This thing has been sitting in a box for some years. I got some of the hard parts solved. I drew up and dremelled out the front mount for the motor. i will be working on the rear once I get the other motor out of the donor. I finally think I have found a car that can handle a lipoed Mamba 7700. More to come.

Finally finished
I finally worked out the issues with this conversion. Thanks to the mod1 pinion, I ditched the 2 speed for the single, and hooked to a MM 7700, it is a beast. I am working on the fit and finish but should be at the track very soon.

Still got a few things to do. Took her to the track today. I need to secure the motor mount better and build a battery tray for top plate. All in all I like it. Finished cutting out the Lamborghini Diablo body...no paint yet.

Nice job, looks clean.
I guess the super RS4 was in between 10th and 8th scale? |
Yeah, you could call it a 1/9th scale. I am looking to get a lower Kv motorso I can push a little more power through it. You are not suppose to exceed 8.4 volts with a 7700. Not to mention I might need to change the gearing.
