Medusa/ESC settings

I see on the Medusa website they recommend that when using their motors, for peak performance the ESC setting should be 18 degrees to 15 degrees advance. Is this how you folks are running these motors? Are any of you just plugging them in and running them without making ESC changes? Thanks

That is for airplanes, not trucks. Best to stick with 0 degree timing as to not heat up too much.

not true... start-up stuttering and bad efficiency [including heat-up] can be seen [conditionally] when running 0 timing on 4+ pole motors... 10 degrees is the absolute minimum that i would run a 4poler, with 15 being a better suited timing setting for low-kv 4polers...

just my 0.02...
