I Got It!!!!
I went to my LHS yesterday and bought a
it as suppose to be 249.99 but i asked the LHS guy if he can remove the 2 servos and now its 214.99 thats -35$$ SPEKTRUM DX3 Radio System!!!! and its a beaut very adjustable and it can really control the truck for 3,000ft:eek: only thing that sucks about it is the 3rd channel doesnt stick you have to HOLD the 3rd channel button to keep it on second gear but i found a way to do it easy by jus changing the way you hold the Transmitter if your thinking of getting one dont think jus go and buy IT!!! |
Why? the servo's are JR based and the 590mg servo is worth the $30 bucks you dropped easily. Don't get me wrong but you could have sold the servo's for more than the $30 you saved. Good radio though and good luck.
|
i dunno i dont really need the servo right now
plus i need the money for other important stuff i can get Hitec servos l8r |
No problem, just thought i would point it out.
|
yeah i knew how much the servos cost because the owner and the worker discussed it to me
tried to tell me those servos worth alot but i jus need the money for important stuff |
Are you sure you can't set the AUX channel to 2P(2 position) and get it to stay in the 2nd position?I'm very suprised that you can't.
I suppose you must have it in 2P already if you're shifting with it. On the XS3 which the DX3 looks suspiciuosly like a 2.4GHz version of (no bad thing) it has 3 grip buttons A,B and C.On that it's only grip button C that you hold down, grip button A makes it stay in the 2nd position when AUX channel is set to it.If you get what i mean. |
ok I'm confused
can you please dumb it down for me ?? |
You should be able to set that button for two way operation. I used this setting for both my emaxx and revo with no problems. I'm also talking about a JR XS3 but the spectrum uses the same case so i assume they use the same programing. Do you have the owners manual? It should tell you how.
|
Well,i'm just going by the JR xs3,i don't know how similar the DX3 is or if they're even related.
On that radio, there's 3 buttons A, B and C which you can asign the 3rd channel(AUX) to.You can also change 2P(2 position i.e for shifting) or for linear if you want to mix steering to the 3rd channel or something. I was just wondering if maybe you have the 3rd channel set to linear instead of 2 position. On the JR, the menu for this stuff is accessed by holding down 'scroll''(menu' on the DX3) and 'enter' when you switch the radio on.then you scroll across that menu.i don't know if the DX3 works that way,i haven't seen the manual but it looks very similar, makes me think they might be related.(both Horizon hobby?) Sorry this is confusing,i don't know how to explain it better.Took me a little time to figure out there was 2 menus on the xs3 instead of one when i got it. (one is acessed by pressing scroll and enter together whilst the radio is on,the other by holding those 2 buttons, then switching on.) |
Dude,it's page 16 of your manual.
|
No page 16 only says how to set the 3rd channel button
There are only 3 kinds of settings for 3rd channel theres LN for Linear 3P for 3 Position and 0 for Inhibit I use the 3P setting since it says its for shifting from forward and reverse and if i use 0(inhibit) it will take a HELL of a long time to switch from 1st gear to 2nd gear and in page 34 of my manual to talk about the 3rd channel 3P function and i quote "Note: To remain in either first or third gears, it's necessary to hold the Grip Lever A in the desired postion. If the Grip Lever is released, the transmission will return to the second(center) gear position" |
Yeah that's the page i'm talkin' about,i just thought it might have been in LN.
Actually,i think that could be quite a good thing for the e-maxx tranny, lets you feel what gear your in at all times without trying the throttle. Could be bad for reverse on nitros though.you could easily let go of the button accidently whilst still moving backwards and lunch the tranny. Oh well, you were right.sorry 'bout that,i just assumed. The more i think about it,the more i think it's a really good idea.I have mixed steering on my TLTs where i hold a button to add rear steering and it's quite intuitive. 3 position might challenge your co-ordination a bit though:C: I'm getting one soon. |
actually no
cuz i adjusted the servo horn on my shifter to make 1st gear into center position of the 3rd channel 3P function then adjusted the travel on the 3rd servo 3P function(FN3+) to 180(which is max) to shift to 2nd gear you jus have to hold the transmitter a lil bit different to use the second gear right... if not you might let go of 3rd channel button and mess up the tranny gears or even worst.... DROP the spektrum DX3 |
