few g3r questions

hey im about to get my second revo soon. im getting it some time this week. and i was thinking about going g3r with it.

the revo is coming with a bunch of stuff and even a os .18 motor. and i was going to sell everything except for the front and rear parts of it. and use that money to buy a g3r chassis.

but i dont know if i should get the cf one or the alumn. one. I really just want to bash it and maybe try out the track. but manily for just having fun.

also. i was wondering is the new emaxx tranny able to fit in the g3r chassis. i know that TDC57 got it to fit his gmaxx but i dont know if it is different then on the g3r.

thats all the questions i have for right now. thanks!

Check out ebay there are quite a few going by as ppl are ditching them for the e-revo - just see what you can get - for your use I would say alum or CF won't make much difference.

To use the new transmission you need either some FLM adapter plates or to fab something up yourself. gmaxx and g3r are the same in that respect.

oh ok. i was looking at getting it new. i dont care about paying a little extra. lol.

i guess i well go look at the flm website and check out this adapter.

I went with the al G3R and it's held up to a lot of bad driving or inattentive driving. I don't have any exp with the CF G3R but I thougth I read TDC57 has some of the CF break on him. Haven't checked into anything for the 3905 tranny conversion/mounting plate, but like arct1k said they are the same for the tranny mounts. If your going with the G3R you might as well go all the way and get the G1 tranny with the FLM Alum half. You can do the same conversions on it as far as the revo shaft and slipper and it is strong and looks damn good on a dirty G3R.

Just contact MetalMan, he can fab you up one, I think truckbasher is / might have him do one for his build, maybe you can get a bulk rate?. Travis is always welcome to use mine as a template you guys.

I'm with Gee... (nice shoots by the way Gee!) You want to do it right and install a G1 trans, they are as rock solid they looks great and it’s light.

Builders Note:
If you install a 3905 trans on a GM chassis you will be limited on your spur gear to 48 (i think)..:oh:

Either way congrads on your upcoming build.. :yipi:

Have a great one..

the reason i wanted to do the 3905 tranny was cause i liked how the motor would be in the middle and not off to the side.

but i might just do the older emaxx tranny and just try and custom make a motor mount that mounts the motor in the middle
