Traxxas forums banned the use of free e-mail accounts?

Anybody know when this happened? I tried to sign up for a forum account over there and I was notified that all free e-mail accounts (yahoo, gmail, hotmail, etc) are banned from signing up because of abusers. So now I can't contribute to their forums, oh well. It kind of makes me mad how some immature and hateful people ruin good things for a lot of people.

Don't worry, you're not missing much. I get more info out of thread titles here than out of complete threads on there. Besides, some of the most intelligent users of the Traxxas forum are members here anyhow.

E-Traxxer 06.28.2008 07:38 PM

Yeah, that's true.
I still would've liked to contribute.
I mean, I can still read all of the threads and such, I just can't post to share my opinion, ah well.

Man, I don't know why I have such bad luck with signing up for forums, but for some reason NitroKillers won't let me register either. :(
I guess buying $500 worth of batteries from Maxamps 2 years ago just isn't enough... *sigh*

DRIFT_BUGGY 06.28.2008 10:03 PM

Maybe it is a sign that you have already registered at the best forum on the internet

E-Traxxer 06.28.2008 10:06 PM

Eureka! It is!
I know that if I ever have any questions all of the members here can answer it for me anyways.

 So true, so true. The pure bliss people have in ignorance over there is enough to give me a headache sometimes. Most other forums are like that as well, rc-monster is a real stand alone when it come to rc forums imo.

Yeah, I'm a mod there too, but there's not much I can do. My "power" is limited to moderating posts. For registration questions/issues, you'd have to talk to an admin.

They've had that for a while. I had the problem in march 2007. Can't remember now who I talked (e-mailed) to but I was able to give them my work e-mail address but have them turn it off to recieve e-mails to it. The company frowns on personal e-mail. Got me in the door to the forum, got a lot of help from there and here. Haven't been on in a while though. Seemed to get a big surge of new users when the VXL and New e-maxx came out. Seemed like the same questions being asked all the time. This may be off the wall but I was checking out other forums when I was doing the nitro thing. Some keep the "Official Thread" deal and have thousands of post in one thread for a certain RC. I found that hard to do searches to find answers. This is still the best forum around. Content and members.

It has been that way for a long time. I had to use my work email when I signed up. It was so long ago that I dont even work at that job anymore and dont remember my account info. No big deal, cause the forum isn't that great.
