Some Questions?

Sup Guys?

1. When I convert my CRT to Brushless. Can I run it all the way till the batteries die? Or is that not safe? Are you not supposed to drain it lower than 3.7v? Can someone help me?

2. What other stuff should I know about Lipos?

3. How much runtime will I get on a TrueRC 6s 8000mAh Lipo?

4. Anything else I should know before I convert it so I don't blow up the house or anything?

Thanks, Austin.

1. I set me LVC to 3V, some play it safe and go a little higher to 3.1, 3.2, 3.4 or what ever setting your controller allows you to set. You will kill your pack if you go until they die. One rule is: If your vehicle is showing signs of slowing down, stop, let the pack cool and charge it.

2. Don't abuse them. Human mistakes are the leading cause of almost all the shit that happened with lipos so far.

3. It will depends on your set up. Your gearing will be the major contributor of how long you will be able to run. I have my vehicles set to about 30mph+ right now and I get bored after 20 minutes.

4. Don't be too hard on your nitro buddies. They won't know what hit them after they only see dust . The best thing to know is, have fun .

Not much info, but I try my best.

Thanks! That helped a poop load! But how do you set the ESC to do that?

keep each cell above 3v (i do 3.2v), always balance your packs, always cool before charging. never charge over 1C. As Lutach said, gearing and power system will affect runtime. Basically get the highest milliamp battery with in reason of weight and size to have the most runtime.

depends on the esc. If the ESC has a built in LVC then there will be instructions on how to set it to your value. If you use an external one it will also include instructions.

I'm going to get the MMM ESC.

Can I charge the Lipo at 10 Amps? Whats 1c mean?

The MMM has a setting that allows you to set the LVC. Your 8000mAh pack should be charging at 8 amps which equals to 1C.

Oh, Alright. Does the Hyperion EOS0610i automatically do that?

I use an Astro Flight 109 and I have to manually set the AMPs. You can set the Hyperion manually as well or save a setting so you can use it later. I'm not sure if the Hyperion will charge 6S at 8A. My AF109 is automatic and the higher the cell count the lower the AMPs it charges them.

The hyperion is easy - you just select the mah of the pack and it backs that into 1c charge rate. It this exceeds it max output it just drops the amps lower. Hyperions are nice chargers (i have 3)

http://www.impaktrc.com/product_info...oducts_id=2058

It says 250 Watts Max Output even on 6s.

Ok. Cool.

bl-is-future 07.01.2008 10:40 AM

if you have the 8000mah lipo though dont go above 8 amps to charge it.
to figure the charging amps for a battery just divide the mah rating by 1000 so the 8000 / 1000 = 8 so 8 amps max charge rate.
