mm still cogs like crazy w/my new NEU motor

I have the latest firmware and it still coggs...any ideas? Esc was fine w/the 9xl

bdebde 07.03.2008 05:40 PM

Double check your motor connections.Ive had cogging when I first installed connectors on my 1512/1.5D the wires coming out of the motor were huge and 1 of my connectors wasnt soldered correctly.I resoldered the loose connector and all ran smooth.:whistle:

All connections are good. The buggy goes great for the first 10 sec.,but, as i turn around and accelerate, it coggs like crazy. Let off the throttle for 2 sec and then it seems ok until I turn and accelerate hard again.

your batteries? or the esc? i have a feeling that they justa cant supply the current required, and once u have used the burst rating (10 secs) then it struggles for the power.... try another pack from somene else if you can and see if that helps :)

hope you get it sorted.

magman 07.03.2008 08:41 PM

Well, I just put my 9xl back in and ran it for 15 min. and the esc ran perfectly...go figure...I guess the esc has an attitude problem w/the Neu!:whip:

MTBikerTim 07.03.2008 09:10 PM

What neu motor is it?

magman 07.03.2008 09:18 PM

1512 1.5yf ... Maybe it does need more juice...5s

TexasSP 07.03.2008 09:20 PM

What you are describing sounds like a current issue, not a cogging issue. True cogging only occurs right at start up when the esc has trouble finding the rotor position. What batteries are you using?

magman 07.03.2008 10:12 PM

I am using Elite 4s 25c rating

magman 07.03.2008 10:14 PM

Even w/my 9xl there is a SLIGHT hesitation at start up.

Jeremy1976 07.04.2008 12:43 AM

You have your timing set to the lowest position? Neu motors, at least the 1515's are suppose to be set to a low timing setting.

magman 07.04.2008 08:10 AM

It is set to a low setting, I don't recall the value off the top off my head, but I will check later today. MY timing is set for 5 so maybe I will try to bump it up to between 8 and 10 and see what happens.
