Futuba 2.4 radio question

I just got it today and hooked it all up and now it's acting weird. I reversed both channels and everything works fine for a min but then the throttle will stick and spin the motor to max rpm for a few seconds then it will stop. The steering will also go max for a second or two then return. It's on a rustler with stock chassis and over two inches away from the CC ubec. Will running 5.1v affect it? Oh the bats in the controller are fully charged. Any help would be great.

after you reversed the channels did you turn it off and back on? it might need to refersh it self like rebooting a computer

I just tried that and still the same thing. I noticed that when it messes up that the light on the reciever goes solid red then back to green when it returns to normal.

maybe try rebinding the Rx to TX...do you have a green light on the back of the Tx?

speed demon 07.05.2008 03:30 PM

Yes green light. How would I go about doing that?

azjc 07.05.2008 03:35 PM

turn on the TX and than power up your RX by connecting the RX to ESC to battery pack, if you dont see the green light on the Rx push the little button next to the light...I didnt need to push the button with mine, it did this on its own

Ok messed with it some more and noticed what's going on. Only when the esc is turned on and I'm giving it throttle either way I noticed my CC ubec"s blue light flickers and then the reciever restarts itself causing signal lose. If I slowly roll into the throttle it does it almost every time. If I just mash it it rarely does it. What could cause the CC ubec to lose power?

it may be faulty or on its way to failing I have been hearing stories of the CC BEC failing and when it does it allows all of the energy to flow and reach the Rx and fry it...I would try another BEC I have since bought a Western Robotics HV BEC...it is overkill but I want to protect my $90 Rx.

I hooked up a simple pack of 4 AA and everything runs fine. I'll toss the CC before I hurt something. I run 6S so I might get something like yours. Does it cause more or less noise then the CC?

so far I havnt used it I have been using an MMM and using the onboard BEC, I am considering going beyond 6s to 8 or 10s and with the CC HV 110 or an MGM 9032 ESC, if I do that both of thoses ESC will need an external BEC and I will use it....here is a link to the one I bought

Thanks for the link and the help. I think that CC has been doing that for awhile now. I just switched from the stock AM radio and always noticed a slight lag while I slowly roll into the throttle. I hope a new ubec will do the trick. I can't see how my MM would be causing it. Again thanks for the help.
