MM settings?
 

Ok iM putting my medusa 36-60-2000 in my 3905 with mm bec geared 24/58 on truer 15c 4s 8000mah......can anyone give me a starting point for mm settings?...im using the stock chevrons and phaltlines

normal timing, low start power, and move from there if you feel you need more

I have a medusa 36-60-2000,mm w/bec, and novak cap running 8000 spc 15c. from a dead stop it coggs badly. Once rolling it is good. It is in a x1crt. gearing is 17/62. I think the gearing is off. esc settings are 0 timing. low start power, and 30% punch. Any ideas. Once rolling it is an animal. I'm thinking a 15t pinion. It came with the 17. I also have the ofna six gear spider center diff with a 52t spur on it. What do you guys think I need to do. I do not mean to treadjack but I did'nt want to start a new thread. Bustitup's setup was basicly the same. motor and esc wise. Thanks

if it cogs from a start it needs a higher start power... my xray doesnt cog even when its sliding backward doing 20+ (backwards) if i slide it around at the end of the straight.... my start power is on high, on low their is noticable cogging under heavy loads.

what? you never slid it around backwards after running full speed down the straight? could also be why my diff outdrives wear pretty bad?

read the mm book, it says the heavier or the more traction a vehicle is the higer the start power should be, medium in my buggy does really good but i go ahead and put it on high incase i slide in a corner during a race i dont want it to cog and me lose a postion if its a close race or at the begining of the race....


i start with low timing, high start power (can try lower settings but i use high just to make sure), %30 punch like was already suggested is a good start, id try 40-50% brakes or you might be flipping end over end, the rest is just what ever you want it to be...

Higher pole count motors like higher start power, especially in heavier vehicles.

I would start with normal timing, medium start power, 50% punch control, 50% brakes, and no drag brake. Adjust the punch control if it feels sluggish out the hole, or wheelies too much. Brake strength is self explanatory. If it cogs from a start with small throttle input raise the start power. 2 pole motors usually do fine with low start power, but the 4 pole motors like neu and medusa usually need a bit more.
