Help me!!!!!! Castle Link problem!

Guys, I'm on my 2nd castle link now. I'm trying to connect me MM to the usb cable, and when I do it says there is no controller or an invalid controller connected. I returned and exchanged the first problematic one to my LHS and they said it had to have been faulty software. They exchanged it without any hassle. I followed closely Castle's tech support- no dice. I tried plugging it into all different usb ports on my computer, thinking one of them may be bad. I try to reinstall the driver as it says to do on castle's site, but it says cannot install hardware. I do have the CD in when I do that. When it is plugged in, there is a solid red and green light on the ESC. I switch it on and off, no change. It did the same thing with my sidewinder, which I bought new, so I know that's not the problem. Please help, this is the only thing standing between me and driving my hyper st! HELP!!!!!!

Stupid question - MM or MMM? The MM doesn't use the CC Link - mini-USB plugs into the side of the ESC.

Barring that have you tried plugging the CC Link into the PC to see if the top light goes green? Try a different USB port on the PC too.

It's the MM. (Mamba max) I've tried connecting to other usb ports. It doesn't help. Yes, i've been plugging into the side of the esc as well.

Are you using Vista?

BL_RV0 07.06.2008 06:47 PM

I'm using XP.

Are you running Vista or XP? If Vista, do you have .NET 1.1 installed?

Have you tried that USB cable with another MM? Also, if that's your only MM have you tried another USB cable?

I would recommend uninstalling any versions installed and delete any folders under C:\Program Files\Castle Creations. Reboot and try to reinstall 3.051 or higher.

Running XP.

Have you tried to install/or Run as Administrator?

DRIFT_BUGGY 07.06.2008 07:06 PM

Are you using the program that came with the cable on the disc or did you download it?

big greg 07.06.2008 07:09 PM

i noticed if you have the older version downloaded you have to run the newest disk or it would do the same thing

BL_RV0 07.06.2008 07:31 PM

Don't worry- got it installed properly. Toasted my MM on 5s though.

big greg 07.06.2008 07:33 PM
