How are Zippy Lipos???

How are these two Zippy lipos? I might get the 4s 25c 4000 or twin 4300 20c 2s packs. Or maybe one of each I'm not sure yet because I don't kknow how good they are but they are a steal on price IMO. How do they perform though? All the reviews seem great? Anyone running these? I know thw 2s looks sloppy but hey for only $40 you can't have everything right? I can always put some shrink wrap over it to clean it up a bit... Thanks

i use them as well my friends do. they hold balance very well. 5Ah 5S pack has more power than truerc 8Ah pack. i still need to run them with eagletree on as i am busy with nitro racing, but so far they perform great.

So the 4300 2s packs would be good? Do well in a Revo wired in series for 4s geared for about 40-45?

I use for two months Zippy 3S 5000 mAh in a e-revo with feigao 8XL and MM.
They worked well. Good punch and good to hold capacity.
Now i've sold them to buy Zippy R (more C) 4S 4800.

get the zippy-r 4800 25c's there great and only 80$ there great have just as much punch as my flightpower pack

so the performance is good, but how long have people owned these? will they drop in performance quickly? im not about to waste $80 on a pack only to have it rendered useless in a matter of months.

About 30 discharge in two months for each pack and i see no loss of performance. I charge the packs at 5,5-6A each time. this is my experience.

thanks :) i will buy one then :D

can you also tell me, what is the mimimum voltage you have seen under load with a fresh pack? (my 4s a123 drop down to 10.2v!!) under 102A spikes.

maneba 08.03.2008 06:42 PM

I don't have an istrument to read that value, sorry.

Got a question for ya. :)

On HobbyCity's site they say that the zippy-r 4800 25c is 170mm long (too long to fit in my rusty) But then I saw their pic:

It looks like to me that the wires/shrink stick out from the end. So are the cells really 170mm or is that size including the bulge of the wires/shrink?

big greg 08.06.2008 04:30 PM

hey rusty, i will check when i get home

RUSTY XL-5 08.06.2008 04:32 PM

Thanks a ton. :intello:

Yeah, thats strange, I also want to buy a 3s LiPo for my Rustler VXL, my Nimh batteries are 13,5cm long, and the LiPo's from Zippy 16cm?
I'm thinking about buying this one: http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...0C_Lipoly_Pack

I was also interested in the one that you just linked, but I think I'll have to get the rcm carbon chassis first for it to fit.

Just if you don't know, under the ESC the rustler has a little bit of space. If you take that plastic thingy from the chassis the LiPo must fit in. ( Maybe I'm gonna do that )

Sorry for my bad Englisch, Im dutch
