You know what I don't understand is why?,other then racing in a class with others.Could you please explain what your thinking of doing with it.It's basically a narrowed 2.5 revo. Now if they release a chassis that shortened it to about stampede size I'd be on it.
|
Be nice if AE brings out one and Kyosho bring out another one but this time based on the ST-R chassis

it will be indestructable tho, a revo is already tough.. shorten the wheelbase, give it tiny wheels, and you will never break it
|
I'd like to get that body for my Revo, and a set of those tires. I like the looks of it.
I was at the LHS last weekend, and they had one of the Slash's there. That suspension was very soft and supple and lots of travel....(hope Linc doesn't see that comment)... |

Not knocking anyone, just confused when you think about it.It has the same wheelbase as the 2.5 revo, but it's 4 inches narrower.I normally try to widen my stuff out to handle better. When I first saw the truck I was excited the more I looked and thought ,I just don't get it. Someone please come out with a conversion chassis that shortens the wheelbase to about 10 inches, and adds brushless. Then run a ST body and 3s lipo and I'll get it.
|
^^^ it is not designed to handle mlike a monster truck, because it is not a monster truck. it is supposed to be a scale rc truck and it drives like the real version and i think thats all that matters. just my 2 cents.
|
I'm no expert as I understand it is narrower but if you consider that it also has lower CG due to the reduced tire diameter. it will handle differently from a Truggy or MT.
A good sway bar would help improve handling.... OT: Anyone knows if I can fit the 12mm Hex hub and Wheel/tire of Slash to an E-Revo? I plan to put those tires and some 1/8th scale on-road car body to make a sort of E-Slayer.... |

Its the same size as the slash...

I was excited at first too, but the more I look at it, the more I think a modded buggy would be better. Even cheap ones are pretty bullet-proof out of the box. The Revo needs a bit of work to get there. The only downsides to using a buggy platform would be the tires (but buggy tires are close), coming up with a body mount (easy), and coming up with a bumper mount.
Also, did anyone catch that the Slash wheelbase is actually longer than the Slayer? The wheelbase of a Slash is close to a buggy. I'm probably going to pick up a cheap buggy kit (Ofna MBX?), give the suspension a little more travel (and make it sit a tad higher), and do the normal conversion process. Slap a Slash body, make body mounts, and make bumper mounts/ Should be cake to do and a whole lot simpler IMO... |
I have a spare revo, so I will pick up the bumpers, body and arms, and maybe the wheels. Or I will run some buggy wheels with 17mm adapters...

If you are looking for durability dont get the ofna MBX. IMO MBX=POS. Never had a worse buggy. Bought it, converted it, broke it repatedly, sold it. Finally happy. I guarntee the slash will be a better than the MBX. If you still want a good tough buggy for a basher just go with the Hyper 7. I think they still sell the TQ. Its way better/tougher than the MBX and its pretty close in price if I remember. Just my opinion. |
