origional MM that works compared to new "fixed" one
just curious, i have one of the GOOD origional mmm's. any reason or suggestion to trade in a working one for the updated'fixed version?
i still keep running battery after battery just waiting for a shutdown.lol |
Ya know (knock-wood) I have 2 of the original batch of the MMM that both easily have over 5 hours each on them at this point on 6S running with the internal BEC and no fan problems. I keep waiting for them have a problem, but to be honest they perform so smoothly - temps haven't gotten above 120* even pushing ~1500 watts through them - internal resistance is really low.
I wonder if Patrick (are you out there?) will be offering a trade in for the original batch to the 2nd round ones. Not sure I would even pick-up on it unless I get reports that the 2nd batch are that much better. Still looking forward to hearing more on some of the other 5-10S spec lower amp speed controls. |
MM or MMM? There's some confusion here. :rules:

I'm sending mine all back when they have the new versions.
I just had my first MMM shut down on me. It had a good 8-10 hours of use on it. The BEC failed. It ran normal all day thru the 3 qualifiers and I shut it down and unplugged the battery as normal. About a half hour later I went to go change the battery and start prepping it for the main and it wouldn't turn on. Nothing. Just dead. If i started the fan spinning it would keep it spinning for a while as if it had a very low voltage running on it still and when I plugged a Rx pack into the receiver it actually started up and spun the motor on the bench for about 5 seconds then it quit again. I yanked the MMM and replaced it with another MMM I had all set up and sitting in the pit box just in case. (as it turns out a good decision) I am sending the dead one back and having it replaced and then when I get that back I am going to yank the other one working or not and have it replaced. I just don't trust that it will keep working. I thought I had a good one. And by comparison to what happened to others I did, but it just couldn't go the distance and I don't trust the other one to do it either. On the brighter side... I won the B-main and bumped up and then took 3rd in the A-main for 1/8 buggy and took 1st in MT with the G2R Revo. :yipi:Very good day for me. It made me forget about the dead MMM. :mdr: |

Yours did the same thing my first one did. I probably had 6 or 7 hours of use on it and it just died after I stopped for a battery swap. Nada, nothing zilch. The other just went up in smoke. Knocking on wood that the one I have in the car now continues to work until the new batch comes out. Castle also has my old MM too, so hopefully I will get that one back soon. I am on my 3rd MMM. I can't afford to purchase a fourth, particularly if I don't even know if it will last. If this one fails, I am going to be out of service for a while. |
sorry guys. supposed to be MMM not MM LOL how do i change a title???
|
Mine is still working too but I will be trading them for the V2. I think Patrick posted somewhere about the trade in after they take care of the people who had problems with their MMM first.
