Ihave done what you are planning on doing, I used a 3.3 nitro chassis, used a single Hitech 5955mg servo for steering, the same motor and battery, and a Futaba 3PM FASST radio and ran great till 2 different MMM escs failed on me..I am planning on trying a CC Phoenix HV 110 as an ESC

That 9xl is going to run rather hot on 6s, better to go 10xl. I have built one revo 3.3 based conversion and am in the process of building my second based on the platinum chassis. Much better I think than the new e-revo setup due to the limitations the chassis poses. You will end up wanting to race it an dump the maxx it is so much better. Even the gorilla maxx can't compare to a converted revo.

How sure are you on this my g2r runs like a champ on the track havent been beaten by any nitro monster trucks or even converted brushless revo on 3.3 chassis

Drivers have a lot to do with racing but the revo is still a superior truck. I have owned 3 maxx's and 2 revo's.

I cannot comment on why you beat out revo's on the track because I have no idea the abilities of you or the people you race with so I won't begin to even speculate.

I have also owned Maxxs and IMO the Revo is a much better platform and I believe it was the intention of Traxxas to have the Revo race ready out of the box
