For you E-Revo owners...

I posted this on another forum, but I wanted more experianced opinions:yes:

Has anyone looked closely at the E-revo motor mount?

Come with me on this little idea...

The mount has THREE places you can mount a motor. Two are for height/gearing adjustments on motors like the titans/fiegao/Neu 1515 etc.

But the other one...the big one... is where I want to focus for a minute...

According to Traxxas..
"An additional set of motor mounting
holes is included for custom application.
This is for larger aftermarket motors with
4mm screws and 29 - 30mm spacing."

After some research, I found this.
http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...sam/KB45_L.jpg

Its called a KB45.
the 08L is 2300kv
the 10L is 1800kv
the 08XL is 1700kv

these are some specs from the 08XL
KB45-08XL 1700kv Brushless Inrunner
Kv: 1700RPM/V
Weight: 557g
Shaft: 6mm
Size: 77x45mm
Voltage: 36v
Highest rated power: 3528W

This motor is a monster!

It has a mounting pattern for 29mm, so it SHOULD fit the Traxxas mount.

The only thing that was stopping me was the 6mm shaft. I couldn't find 32p pinions with a 6mm bore...
...then I saw that kershawdesigns has them!

I would like to try the 08L with a MMM and a 4s set up. But my MMM is at Castle :(

oh-yeah..
I found some vids of someone running an XL in an e-maxx...
....one word...powerful.

Interesting find. Definitely adds possibilities.
