3s to 4s with loose cell?

So I just got my 3s maxamps pack back and since I've been looking around for some good packs to make into a 4s, I thought about simply getting a loose cell and putting wires on it to run i nseries with my 3s. Would that work fine or would I be better off getting two 2s packs? I don't think that the 5000 loose cells are that expensive? I was looking at the 10000 to make a pack and those are only $34 a piece so the 5000s shouldn't be too much should they?

The 10000 IIRC are 10c which is why they are cheap the 5000 are 20c which is why they are more expensive...

I don't think a 5000 4s maxamps pack will do well in a buggy, revo, truggy...

Ahh. Well why wouldn't a 5k pack do well? I will admit that it ruined my previous 3s pack, but I was way overgeared. If I switch to 4s and drop the gearing as much as I can it should be fine... Right?

i blew up a 5000 4s maxamps easily in a converted revo. I now have a TrueRC 8000 with a lower amp rating (80A vs the MA's 100A) that handles the same setup without getting warm.

Hmm... So basically I have to run a high mah batt? What is the cheapest yet best lipo I could run? I am really short on money but need this truck to run...

No. Basically, you have to run higher quality cells.

Woah! I just checked the maxamps pack and a 5000mah 4s pack from maxamps is $194! Geez I thought they were meant to be cheap? I've seen the same voltage and capacity polyquest (enerland) packs for significantly less than that.
