Buggy shock question...
Hi,
Have a brushless Savage project in the works and have got some OFNA rear 1/8 alum. shocks on the way. Just wondering what shock oil wt. should I run? 25wt. or 30wt. Thanks |
are you going to use 4 or 8 shocks? i use 100wt with 4 of them, but my savage is rather heavy.
And what springs do you use? i've got the UE shocks, and those come with a variaty of springs. |
Will be using 4. Stock springs. My Sav should be fairly light when it's done. Won't be jumping much...just low and fast on street/dirt.
|
probably about 70ish??
|
70wt? That's pretty thick/stiff. I run 45wt. in my nitro savage which is pretty heavy and it is pretty stiff. i have been told 25wt. or 30wt. is good for racing (or little or no jumping etc.)
|
im not sure honestly. i have a 7.5 lbs. e-maxx with 4 shocks and it uses 60-70 weight with the heaviest springs i can get.
|
I run a emaxx with 8 shocks and 50 wt.
|
i use 90-100 wt with my savage...
|
on my savage with 8 stock shocks i used 25wt and jumped it high and stuff and it worked great. if you get really thick stuff your gonna need really! strong springs. For 4 shocks i would try 40wt?

Basketti;
What shock do you use, the stock ones or the buggy style? the buggy style needs thicker oil, because the travel is much shorter.. |
oh i just used the stock ones not buggy ones, I didnt know there was that much difference when using a shorter shock, i guess 40wt wont work.
