1509's in a buggy...anyone tried it?
Anyone tried this set up?:intello:

I assume you mean a 1/8 buggy?
I think it would be great for a racing setup. Lots of power for not a lot of weight. |
The 1509's work great in a buggy for racing.

They work well in lighter buggys on small to medium tracks. I have run a 1509 1.5y in my rc8 with no problems. However, if you run on a larger track I would go with the 1512. The low end torque difference is noticeable between the two. The 1509 also is not as forgiving gearing wise as the 1512.

I asked the same question a few weeks back in the buggy section and got these replies when I was considering one for my 808, http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12970
The final item that persuaded me against it was Per BrianG RC calc, per the input your build needs to weigh under 7.7 pound in order to run a 1509 so I went with a 1512 instead and couldn’t be happier.. Best of luck in your quest.. |
