Diff swap combatability

Will a center diff from a hyper 8.5 fit into a crt?

Unless Im mistaken, all 1/8scale diffs & center diffs are the same size all bar a one or two, and they all use the same sized bearings, so it should work okay.

At a min i think you would have to buy a hyper front support, top plate and motor mount...

if you want some more info let me know, but i know that all the hyper diffs are the same (dimensions) so if you can find any info regarding the hyper 7 then that should be applicable for this :)

The Hyper 8.5 diff should be more or less a direct fit to a CRT. Two reasons: it's a standard size (Kyosho diff), and two, they are both Ofna.

Not so IIRC - Hyper is Hoboa and CRT is Nor Hong - In the USA they are both distributed by OFNA but different companies...

Easiest way to tell is Mike makes different motor mounts for Hyper and OFNA.

But they are still both standard Kyosho type center diffs.

And I'd bet the only difference in Mike's motor mounts between the Hyper/CRT is mounting hole separation - the OP didn't specifically state that he (she) is interested in swapping the entire center diff unit including center bulks.
