Mod 1
Hello,
Sorry if this is a dumb question but I didn't know where to ask... What is "Mod 1"? I know it's a size of gearing. I assume it's like 32 pitch or 48 pitch but rather than being a certain pitch it's "Mod 1" If anyone knows what it means or where it fits in the pitch scale I'd be curious. Also - why does one use "Mod 1" is it for more strenght? Where? And what products typically are of this size. Thanks! DM |
not a stupid question at all! well mod 1 is the pitch of the gear (its bigger than 32 pitch), the only difference is thats a metric measurement. yes, they are used for more strength. there used on the revos and 1/8th scale buggys mostly.

Mod 1 is a metric size(similar to 24 pitch in dp size). Basically, the teeth are larger and stronger so are less likely to strip.
|
there are 25.4 teeth placed in each inch.
|
Mod 1 is sooooo much stronger than 32p, I killed spurs left and right in my Ofna 9.5 before I went to mod 1, super strong.
|
Yes, less teeth per inch and more meat on the teeth gives a stronger gear.
32 pitch would be nice, if it was a 8-10mm wide.. |
Thanks very much guys! Now I understand.
